The cookies this site sets

A cookie is a small file a site places in your browser to recognise you from one visit to the next. This site only sets them if you accept: the Google Analytics ones, which tell visitors apart and tie several pages into one visit, and the Meta one (_fbp), used to measure the effect of our ads.

On your first visit, a banner asks for your choice: “Accept” or “Decline”, given equal weight. Until you answer, nothing is set and nothing is measured. Your choice is kept in your browser, and nowhere else, so that you are not asked again on every page.

You can change your mind at any time with the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw your consent, the measurement cookies are deleted. The site works exactly the same without them.

Audience measurement

If you accept, the site uses Google Analytics, loaded by Google Tag Manager. We use it to know which pages are read and how people reach the site — not to identify you personally, which the tool does not allow.

What is recorded includes page views, how long a visit lasts, the device and browser type, an approximate location, and where you came from (a search engine, a link, or typing the address).

This is processed by Google, whose servers are outside Québec. Google also receives your IP address, as does any service your browser sends a request to.

Advertising measurement (Meta)

If you accept, the site also loads the Meta (Facebook) pixel. It tells Meta that a page of this site was viewed, which lets us measure the effect of our ads on Facebook and Instagram. This is processed by Meta, outside Québec, under its own policies.

Third-party calls on load

The page’s fonts, images and scripts are served from this site: no other host is asked for them.

The one exception is the measurement described above, and only if you accept: it then contacts Google and Meta. Without your consent, no page contacts a third party when it opens. The map on Contact us, described below, only loads if you ask for it.

The map on the Contact us page

The Contact us page offers a map provided by Google Maps. It only loads when you press “Show the map”: at that moment, and not before, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under its own policies.

If you would rather not load it, the clinic’s full address is written at the bottom of every page, and the “Directions” button opens the route directly at Google.

What your browser keeps anyway

As with any site, your browser caches files it has already downloaded so that later visits are faster. That cache is local to your device, we have no access to it, and you can clear it from your browser settings.

Without JavaScript

If your browser does not run JavaScript, the banner does not appear and nothing is measured.
