Orthodontics covers the treatments that aim to correct dental and jaw irregularities, in order to improve the alignment of the teeth.
Treatments are available at any age. They range from traditional metal appliances to more discreet options, such as ceramic brackets or clear aligners, through to more complex procedures where a structural correction is needed.
02
The initial consultation
The first consultation includes a complete exam, a treatment plan suited to your situation, and a discussion of your expectations and goals.
The assessment considers the dental side, but also its effect on the rest: chewing, speech and day-to-day comfort.
Teeth that overlap, gaps, a mismatch between the jaws, uneven wear, or simply areas that are impossible to clean properly because the teeth are poorly aligned.
There is no age limit for a consultation. In children, an exam shows how the teeth and jaws are developing and whether it is worth intervening now or waiting.
04
How the treatment works
The initial consultation includes a complete exam, impressions or imaging, and a treatment plan suited to your situation.
Then comes fitting the appliance, or handing over the first set of aligners. Treatment progresses through adjustments at regular intervals; how long it takes depends on what needs correcting.
05
After the treatment
Teeth tend to drift back toward their original position: that is why a retainer is planned at the end, and why it has to be worn as instructed. The retainer is what preserves the result.
During treatment, hygiene needs more attention than usual, because an appliance holds more plaque. A few days of discomfort after each adjustment is normal.
Crooked, overlapping or gapped teeth? Orthodontics corrects the alignment of the teeth and the jaws, in children as in adults — there is no age limit. The options range from traditional metal braces to more discreet ceramic brackets and near-invisible clear aligners. The first consultation at our Repentigny clinic includes a complete examination and a plan suited to you, with the duration and the costs set out before anything begins. We also welcome patients from Charlemagne, Le Gardeur and L’Assomption.
Smile aesthetics and alignment

Whitening aims to lighten the shade of natural teeth. Whitening toothpastes and mouthwashes remove some of the surface stains; only a whitening agent reaches the deeper pigments behind the change in colour. Results and duration vary from person to person, and an examination beforehand helps set realistic expectations.
